Giving Thanks

When I stumbled onto Jamberry 3-1/2 years ago, the decision to join was more to save money because I wanted so many designs.... not because I even remotely thought that it would become something bigger than 'collecting' (you JamFanz can relate) the super cute wraps. I never imagined that my life would be seen through plum-colored lenses and #blessed because of the relationships and experiences it has afforded my family.

I joined about 30 seconds after my sponsor, a long-time dear friend whom I also did another direct sales business with for seven years. Since the company was so young, we just figured out a lot of stuff based upon what we knew prior. The company has grown up so well since those days! She has my back for all things Jamberry and otherwise.  ( :  Our friend Amy was one of the first Jamberry consultants in California- she is also such a blessing. 

This is a party biz, and I love to do parties.... my hostesses have become dear friends, Most I would not have met if not for Jamberry and I so love it! Many of those hostesses have joined our team and the opportunity to get to know them has been so wonderful. Ladies from all around the country and we share the love of cute nails and supporting each other.

My team inspires me and makes me so proud and helps me to become a better person and leader. Each and every one of you ladies holds a special place in my heart and I thank you for being you! It makes me teary every time one of them tells me about something important that Jamberry has given them--- enough money to repair a broken fridge, gas money to escape the devastating fires in California, the unexpected medical bill. How awesome is it that these little "nail stickers" can take the stress away? Or make a breast cancer survivor smile? That's powerful! That's why I do Jamberry!!!

And memories? Caravanning to Utah for the 2nd annual National Conference was super fun, yet I will never make that drive again- it was so long..... but filled with laughs with aforementioned Amy. The 3rd conference... squishing four ladies' worth of  luggage into a compact car- my JamBFF Jennifer is a master packer.... she's also one of the funniest and talented ladies that I know.... all because of Jamberry! And my IRL friends that joined the team, it just allowed me to spend more time with them.  There's so many more.... so many, but I have some food to cook..... ( :

I am so thankful for Jamberry, and for my team, my clients and the unlimited potential and dreams that have yet to be unlocked. Thank you for allowing me to do what I do! Happy Thanksgiving.

Budget Friendly Pedicure- Get the Most Out of Your Wraps

I love to save money but this girl loves her salon pedicures (well, I love to get my feetsies rubbed!) Smiley face--- RIGHT? So while Jamberry is a great option to "save" from a salon pedi, the 30 minutes that I spend in a pedicure chair pouring over a gossip mag learning about which Hollywood starlet was visited by aliens is pure bliss and mine, all mine!! And then I go home and finish out my pedicure with some fun Jamberry Nails.

 Yep! I actually do both- one is for pampering and the other is because they don't chip, smudge and last until my next pedi sesh- AWESOME!!!! Want to hear something even better? You could get NINE FULL PEDICURES out of one sheet of wraps. A $15 sheet........ 9 pedicures....... that's a bargain! Makin' Room for New Designs!!!

All things must eventually come to an end.... and for Jamberry that means retiring designs with each catalog change.  That time is upon us and I am sad to see some of these designs retire to the vault. However, that means that there is a new catalog just around the corner- September 1st to be exact!!!!!!!! (And it's a goodie, ladies! Like the BEST EVER.) I know I say that each change over- and this is my sixth one- but OH. MAH. JAM- but that will have to wait until September 1st. (HOST A PARTY this month- a fun girls night in local or a FUN online JAM and get one T O D A Y!!!) 

So, about those retiring designs..... there are some that are just retiring in the FINISH alone but the design will still be around- for example, the Upper East Side wrap is only retiring the "GLOSSY" version. You will still find a different finish after 9/1/15.

Jamberry Nails Discontinued Finishes (8/31/15)

Designs being completely phased out include the popular Uno Mo Mo, Punchy Puff and Faded Deco to name a few. If you are even remotely considering adding any of the designs to your collection, do it now as after 8/31, they'll become a coveted "UNICORN" and it may take an act of congress to locate one for you. But, hey, that's what I do to keep my JAM Fans happy. Smiley, winky face emoticon..... ( :

It's a Throwback Kind of Day!

#ThrowbackThursday Wraps available until 8/10/15.

I’ve been around Jam-land since “back in tha’ day”… there were just a mere 200ish designs available; we put them on with a blow-dryer (in fact, a cute hot pink tiger stripe one came in my kit) and they were on a different formula- one that the “Unicorn Hunters” refer to as “classic on white.”  The wraps (called shields back then) were a manufactured on a thicker material with a different adhesive formula. They also came on a larger white backing with a cursive Jamberry Nails logo.  I’m so impressed with the great changes- longer lasting and ease of application. My only regret is that I didn’t hoard some of the awesome designs of yesteryear- how would I know that they would be so coveted? Honestly, hundreds of fabulous designs come out each season so it's hard to know if you will miss a design.  And now today! It’s like they read my mind in bringing back two of my most favoritest ever—Vibrant Pinwheeland Fuschia Houndstooth. Vibrant Pinwheel was one of the original 40 designs that the Sisters took to their inaugural tradeshow. It’s lovely and I barely have a few scraps left…… so you can imagine that this girl is suuuuuuuuuper excited for this #JamberryTBT!  While the design was brought out of the vault, these are brand new, freshly minted wraps available for $15 each and can be purchased as part of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free guest special and redeemed with hostess rewards for FREE. Back to School Beauty!

August is still blazin' hot here in California, but all of the kiddos are getting ready to head back to school (I know a few that actually started this week!). Summer just flew by for us- my little girl starts back in just two weeks and we are already fretting about what to wear!

New Spring/ Summer Line Available!!

This is my SIXTH catalog change with Jamberry Nails. I am giddy with anticipation each one, but this one rocks my socks. For realz! There are 143 new wraps (this includes different finishes) and seven new lacquer colors.  That doesn't count the two new Exclusive lacquers from the sets or the Design Dimensions, new nail cleaner, a cuticle remover pen, a cuticle oil pen, polish remover.... you get the picture.... so many decisions!

I exercised pure restrain when placed my first order, I promise, but the "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" special is so tempting. I will be anxiously awaiting Nail Mail this week.  I will stay busy in the meantime sending out the new catalogs and amazing new samples to wonderful JAMaddicts like YOU!

While I am no fashion maven, from what I see on Pinterest, Polyvore and my limited Mommy-TV time, Jamberry Nails is spot on with the hottest trends of the season- oversized floral prints, white lace, tints and clears for layering, sparkles and even some new plaids. (Hello Burberry-inspired Upper East Side! One of my personal faves!) The designers listened to requests from consultants and valued clients that requested more neutral hues and Mixed Manis.

I like the Mixed Manis as a great option for someone new to Jamberry Nails as it provides them with more options when they purchase the Have it All Starter Package- it is like having two or three more options on top of the other three sets of wraps to increase their mileage. I love that this option can save you money! ( :

Healthy, Beautiful Hands~ Beautiful You!

If your hands can reveal your ‘real’ age, taking care of your hands and nails is important and should be part of your daily self-care routine. Should is often optional however, since our face gets most of our attention and we don’t give our hard-working hands a second thought! It’s time to give your hands the attention they deserve in a few simple steps, especially in the winter! The winter season is known to be extraordinarily harsh on our very important hands. 

One hint is to avoid the 'antibacterial' hand wash as much as possible: those are the soaps that contain the harsh chemical triclosan (often marked "antibacterial") dry out your hands with repeated use. Good old hot water, (sing the birthday song or the alphabet) and soap- especially those that contain natural antibacterial ingredients such as tea tree oil or eucalyptus can help sanitize and not dry them out.  If you must sanitize (and who are we kidding, we all take that step in cold and flu season!), then don't forget the next tip:

Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

Did I say moisturize?!? Your hands need moisturizer and sun protection as much, if not more- than your face! A lack of moisture and sun puts your paws at risk for sun damage leading to wrinkles and dark spots. Dried-out nails are more likely to break, split, and chip. A moisturizing cream or lotion featuring ingredients like Shea butter and Vitamin E is a good addition to your daily routine, both morning and night. The winter seasons are especially harsh on

them! Compounding the harsh climate conditions are stressors such as hot showers (water draws moisture from nails as it evaporates from skin) and alcohol-based hand sanitizers common during cold and flu season that tend to dry out skin while sanitizing. To add some needed moisture in your hands, try the Nourish Hand Cream for your hands and arms- it’s fantastic.

Why it works: The lightly scented Indulgence Lotion is infused with Biotin and Aloe Vera. Biotin helps promote nail growth and relieves extremely dry cuticles, and aloe and Shea are effective in treating a variety of skin conditions, from flaky or dry skin; Aloe also moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel.

If you have super thin nails, you may want to add a strengthening base coat to your routine as often as you can. Jamberry's is five-free (does not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor or DBP) but does have Horsetail Plant extract- a herb rich in nutrients and high in silica- both promote strong healthy nails.

Cuticle Care

Your nails need just as much moisture as your skin. The cuticle is constantly discarding old cells and producing new ones. Unless this tissue remains soft and pliable, it can grow onto the surface of the nail where it becomes unsightly, splits into hangnails and can even impede nail growth. While you don’t need a specialty product for your nails, one that targets your cuticles will also do the trick. Healthy nails and cuticles prevents cracking, tearing and hangnails- not only are they unsightly and uncomfortable but can get infected and cause a bigger problem. You can use cuticle oil while wearing nail products (such as Jamberry Wraps or even artificial nails) and still receive the benefit of the oil and moisturizer.

Try: Jamberry Nails Cuticle Oil- it contains Safflower Oil, Cottonseed Oil, and Vitamin E Acetate as deep moisturizers to help keep your cuticles and nails moisturized. The Quench Balm in the Indulgence set is heavenly for your nails as well.

Skip and Go Naked

While I love my nail art and beautiful nails, a 24-48 hour break is good for your paws! Your nails are made up of flattened dead cells containing keratin so they don’t need to ‘breathe,’ but the break gives you the opportunity to ensure you don’t have any health problems revealed by the state of your nail beds. (If it looks weird, consult with a health professional!) This is a good opportunity to add some additional moisturizing into your routine with a quick hot oil soak. Warm up a bowl of olive oil or coconut oil for about 30 seconds and dip your nails and massage in the oil. Nails often look like they are being damaged by nail products, when in fact they are just thirsty!

An Added Layer of Protection

Avoid dishpan hands and don’t do the dishes! If only! Seriously- don a pair of cute gloves when immersing them in hot water or using harsh chemicals. Hot water can strip your skin of its own natural oils, leaving skin and nails dry and chapped. Chemical exposure can cause contact dermatitis, a temporary reaction of redness. If you encounter contact dermatitis, a moisturizer is a great aide but if the problem persists, call your doctor.

No Chainsaw Massacre!

Do you madly file your nails in all directions??!!! It may be the swiftest way to short nails, but it’s the wrong way. Your nails will tear and become jagged and often split- exactly what we are trying to prevent! File your nails in a 180 degree angle in one direction only! Stop the sawing. Buffing them with a soft buffer is good as well, but it will bring up natural oils- that’s bad for proper Jamberry Wrap application. You want to make sure that you gently push back your cuticles too so that you don’t cause any damage.

It’s also important to use professional-grade tools in your nail care- most are stainless steel and can remain sharp to do their proper job. Make sure to sanitize your tools regularly- use boiling hot water or rubbing alcohol. Fifty Shades of Jamberry Grey

I may be the only woman in 'merica that has not read the Fifty Shades of Grey books- I was even late to the Hunger Games parade, still haven't seen or read a Harry Potter as well.  Don't get me wrong, love to read, but just haven't gotten around to those yet.  Maybe you can persuade me why I should! This might be good for me when and if I see the new Fifty Shades of Grey movie premiering tomorrow.
